Q. How old do I need to be in order to take lessons?

A. 6 years old and up is the most common age, although it is possible to start at 4 and up.

Q. How are the lessons given, is it weekly, at a set time and day?

A. Yes, lessons are once a week, at a set time and day.  We will work out a time that works best for you. 

Q. I'm an adult, is it too late for me to learn how to play the drums?

A. Not at all,  Whether your in your 20's or 70's its never to late to learn drums, I have many adult students! 

Q. I'm a parent and I enjoy getting involved with my child's music too, what can I do?

A. I welcome and encourage parents to sit in on the first few lessons, especially with younger children, 4-8 years old. But it is not mandatory.

Q. What do I need to get started with lessons?

A. All you need is a drum pad, pair of sticks and a writing book, which I can help you with.

Q. How much practice does it require?

A. I recommend practicing 15 minutes or more at least 4 to 5 days a week. The more you practice the better you get! Its that simple!

Q. I don't know how to read music, will I be able to learn how to play drums?

A. You will begin to learn to read music, within the first lesson. Don't be intimidated by it.   

Q. My son/daughter is in school band and enjoys the drums, but I'm thinking about furthering their skills with private lessons. What are the advantages?

A. When a child gets private, individual instruction, they increase their skills dramatically because the teacher can easily identify the students strengths and weaknesses many times overlooked in group instruction.

Q. How do I know I'm going to like drum lessons?

A. No problem, THE FIRST LESSON IS ALWAYS FREE!
